It makes perfect sense for graphic designers to be inspired by architects, and vice versa. Design concepts overlap throughout all of the various disciplines. Personally, I have been inspired by mid-century modern architecture & design for as long as I can remember. And when one thinks of this style of design, Joseph Eichler is one of the first architects to come to mind.
The line of paint packaging that I developed, Mid Mod Paints, has a bright, 1960s inspired color scheme with the promise of “Atomic Age Colors!” on the back panel. The patterns on the packaging were inspired by cement breezeblocks that are a common feature in Eichler designs.
